RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR USE OF LIBRARY

The NSGS library collection is located in the Beatrice Public Library at 100 North 16th St., Beatrice, NE  68310  (402) 223-3584.    The library is available to the public free of charge.  Holdings are listed on the house computer as “NGS”.  Some of the rare books and books in delicate condition are located in the Heritage Room.  If the title you want is in the vertical file (VG in call #) ask the person at the desk to get it for you.  The books are filed by the Dewey Decimal system.

LENDING LIBRARY

Any member of NSGS in good standing is eligible to use the lending library.  Remember, this is your library and your material, so please handle the articles as if it were your personal possession.  If the material ordered from the library is presently on the shelves, it will be mailed out to you within a few days. If the item is already out, no notice will be sent to you unless the waiting period will be over four weeks.

Please abide by these simple rules:

On your order include the following information:

1.  Complete title plus Call Number of the book(s) - No more than 3 books at a time.
2.  Your full name, mailing address and membership number (from membership card or quarterly mailing label).
3.  Your e-mail address (or SASE) in case of need to contact you.
4.  Enclose $ 4.00 per book payable to NSGS to cover rental, postage & handling for each book ordered.

Mail order to:
NSGS Librarian Catherine Renschler
205 Hummingbird Circle
Juniata, NE 68955
Phone: 402 460 9626

You may keep the book(s) for 21 days (this includes the mailing time to and from your home)

When returning items, pack them in the carton they were mailed to you in.  Use the Mailing label provided in the book pocket above the due date.

Should an item be lost, it will be the borrower’s responsibility to replace it or pay the value of the book.
A late charge of 25 cents a day will be assessed the borrower if the items are overdue.  Abuse of this on a continued basis will be, at the discretion of the library committee, cause for cancellation of the privileges.  We will, at all times, take into consideration delays of the postal department.
